Inspection Information

Post by Aeolus » Sun Apr 23, 2017 6:26 am

GENERAL GUIDELINES
  • Please have your horse inspected in your home country first, if possible.
  • If your horse has been previously inspected in its home country please include that on the horse's page so that we may take their scoring into consideration when doing our own inspecting.
  • Home country inspections may be accepted in lieu of SSI inspections at the discretion of the inspecting judge.
  • We will no longer be inspecting horses that already have two inspections at the current level (eg two mare inspections, etc.).
  • Please post a maximum of five horses (per owner) at any given time. Horses will be inspected in the order in which they were posted.
  • If we have any problems inspecting, we will post on the horse's inspection thread so keep an eye on your threads.

PERFORMANCE TESTS
Performance tests are the ultimate level of recognition for any sport horse. These rigorous tests prove that the horse has what it takes to compete internationally and to improve their breed's genetic pool.

x. As of 2015, mares must earn a minimum 60 on their MPT to pass, and stallions must earn a minimum overall index of 100 (or an overall index of >90 + another index of >110) to pass.
  • Mare Performance Test
A mare performance test can help a mare that has suffered in her scores at Inspection to improve her status, or can take a really top mare to the next level, even Elite.
Open to mares that have passed their inspection and are at least five years of age.
This test lasts 14 days, and in the spirit of realism we ask that your mare not compete during that time.
Mares are judged on the following criteria:
    • 40% Rideability
    • 30% Gaits
      • 10% Walk
        10% Trot
        10% Canter
    • 30% Jumping
      • 15% Technique
        15% Ability
  • Stallion Performance Test
Open to stallions that have passed their inspection and are at least five years of age.
Necessary to put your stallion's name in the record books, a Stallion Performance Test is a critical part in any breeding program.
This test lasts 30 days, and in the spirit of realism we ask that your stallion not compete during that time.

The stallion performance test is run differently than the mare performance tests. They will be hosted only a few times a year, and at least ten stallions must be signed up in each test for it to run, as their final score is calculated based on their scores vs. the average score.
    • Training Director Score - 50% of Overall Score
During the first 27 days of testing, the stallions shall be judged on the following criteria by the performance test training director:
      • 5% Character
      • 5% Temperament
      • 5% Ability to Work
      • 5% Willingness to Work
      • 7.5% General Jumping Aptitude
      • 7.5% Basic Gaits
      • 2.5% Walk
      • 2.5% Trot
      • 2.5% Canter
      • 15% Rideability
Judges' Scores - 50% of Overall Score
This section of the test shall be given in the final three days of the performance test, and shall include the following judging criteria before a panel of judges:
      • 15% Rideability
      • 7.5% Freejumping
      • 10% Jumping Under Saddle
      • 7.5% Basic Gaits
      • 2.5% Walk
      • 2.5% Trot
      • 2.5% Canter
      • 10% Cross Country
      • 5% Canter
      • 5% Jumping
      Final Score Calculation
The scores of all stallions shall be averaged, and the average noted as '100'. From there, the stallion's scores shall be calculated based on his actual score vs. the average score. For example, if the average score was 88, and stallion A scored 89, his score is 101.14 (89/88 = 1.0114)

BREEDING APPROVAL
Here are the breeding approval guidelines for SSI:
  • Mares may be approved for breeding upon successfully passing their Mare Inspection, though we do recommend the Mare Performance Test.
  • Stallions will be given a Temporary Breeding License upon passing their Stallion Inspection. This allows them to have up to three foals inspected here per birth year.
  • Stallions that pass both the Stallion Inspection and the Stallion Performance Test will have a Full Breeding License, which allows them to have an unlimited number of foals inspected here per birth year.

Please note: for star awards and performance test waivers, massive randomized events such as ASJA, ASEA, etc. will most likely not be considered. There are many opportunities here and in international sim to show at upper levels, and part of this program is to invest in the time and effort it takes to make an Elite animal. PM me if you have any questions about this.
